Vinturi Wine Aerator

If you take your shiraz or pinot noir seriously you won’t need us to tell you that red wine needs to breathe to be at it’s best.  Allowing the wine to react with the air before you drink it enhances the flavours and makes for a smoother finish.  In the past this has meant uncorking and/or decanting the bottle and leaving it for hours, or at least spinning your glass around frantically in the manner of Oz Clarke.

For those who would rather avoid these options allow us to present the Vinturi Wine Aerator.  Spotted advertised in an in-flight magazine recently this certainly appears to be a stylish alternative for drinking your wine at it’s best.  Simply hold the aerator over a glass and pour wine through it into the glass.

The wine passes through a patented system which, according to the manufacturer, gives you “perfect aeration in the time it takes to pour a glass”.

Bottoms up!

I’ve tried and tested the Vinturi, which works well – but for an even better looking design that I think has the edge on the Vinturi, plus makes a real occasion out of aerating your wine I’d suggest trying one of these http://www.wineweaver.com

Big bonus is that you don’t have to hand-hold this over your glass, but can sit it directly on top. The wine splaying out against you glass really produces the wow factor and you can immediately smell and taste the difference.

I recently bought one and couldn’t believe the difference it made to my wine. It’s definately made my Christmas prezzie shopping easier – I’m just ordering a load of these for everyone!

Couldn’t agree more on the aeration front, really enhances your wine and makes a less expensive bottle taste like a more expensive one.

(P.S. If you’re thinking about buying a wineweaver – I’d go to Amazon.co.uk as they’ve got free shipping until 31st December)

‘Tis the season to be merry! JD
