Can’t afford a Tag Heuer?  Well it just got slightly easier.  This is the new Formula 1 Grande Date – as seen on the wrist of Lewis Hamilton no less – and you don’t need to drive for McLaren to be able to afford one.

Inspired by the 1960s ‘Monte Carlo’ chronograph and costing £625 this watch is significantly more expensive than a day on the go-karts, but bear in mind that most Tags retail at more than four times that amount and it almost looks like a bargain.

There’s no bargain-basement quality here though, the Grande Date is equipped with all the features of it’s more expensive siblings, including 200m water resistance, scratch resistant crystal case and a unidirectional bezel.
