Sony Ericsson debut “Motion Activated Headphones”

29 September 2009

Sony MH907

In retrospect, it might have been a bit of a stretch for Sony to claim that these motion activated headphones would change the way you listen to music forever, but you can’t argue that motion controlled earbuds are an intriguing idea.

What we have here are Sony Ericsson’s MH907 Motion Activated headphones, and while it’s an interesting idea it’s not groundbreaking.  Remove one of the earbuds to pause music, put it back in your ear and it starts playing again.  Receiving and hanging up calls work in the same way.  It’s not really motion activation in the way you had hoped is it?  Where is the “headbanging recognition” to automatically cue up a metal playlist?  Or the ability to shake your head to skip a track?

Still, if you’re sold, and have a compatible Sony Ericsson mobile (with a FastPort connector) you can satisfy the craving soon for the local equivalent of €39.
